In the beginning, Cinema Lovers Community (CLC) was just a group of young man who really love making film. Independent film, exactly. Because of their similarity in hobby, finally they made a forum: Cinema Lovers Community (CLC) itself, in March 4th 2006 that consists of some local production houses. They were Laeli Leksono Film, Beda Studio, Bochary Film, Glovision Production, and SBH Entertainment. The membership of CLC is free and opened for whoever. It can be personal or community. No limitation in age and social, economy, or education background. Because the purpose of CLC just as a forum where people who love film discuss about film and make film itself.

The first program of CLC was "Bioskop Kita" that launched in Operational Room of Graha Adiguna building, Pendopo Bupati Purbalingga on Saturday, May 6th 2006. This event was programmed to run once a month. And in the first "Bioskop Kita", CLC played "Perang Bubar" by Bochary Film. But, when they had just twice in holding "Bioskop Kita", CLC was prohibited to hold it based on official letter from Humas Setda Purbalingga no. 499/VII/HMS/2006. The letter said that the Operational Room of Graha Adiguna building would only be used for database room, library, and guest acceptance room. So, finally CLC couldn't play some indie (independent) movies and they held "Aksi Keprihatinan" as a kind of protest. But Satpol PP dismissed them because they were recognized disturbing safety in Graha Adiguna and the surrounding. This even was filmed and when the film followed a festival, it was the winner of The Best Film Category in Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD) 2006. After a prohibition of handling "Bioskop Kita" CLC held "Lajar Tantjab" program. CLC played their films in some villages. CLC also went to Cilacap to socialize "Cinematography" with playing some films in Gedung Kreatif, Aula Kelurahan Tritih Wetan, Proliman, Cilacap, on September 16th 2006. This event made CLC has relationship with Sangkanparan, a community of filmmaker in Cilacap. For 2 years recently, CLC and Sangkanparan also make relationship with AFF (Arisan Film Forum) from Purwokerto. They make a network for filmmakers and filmolovers (people who love film) called as JKFB (Jaringan Kerja Film Banyumas).

FAST FACTS

1. Other programs of CLC are: producing new films every time, following film festivals, Lajar Tantjab in villages, workshop for senior high students, and Sayembara Penulisan Cerita Film Pendek (SPCFP).
2. On Saturday, July 7th 2007 CLC held a parade: Parade Film Purbalingga (PFP). More than 30 films were played from 7 am until 10 pm.
3. On September 22nd 2007 CLC started the 1st "Bamboe Shocking Film!", a monthly program that held in Café Bamboe, Purbalingga. In this event CLC always play film from Purbalingga itself, also from Cilacap, Purwokerto, Jogjakarta, and Jakarta as guest films. "Bamboe Shocking film!" serves a session for the audiences to ask and discuss with the filmmakers (executive producer, producer, camera person, DOP, etc.).
4. There are 19 production houses work under CLC. They are Laeli Leksono Film, Beda Studio, Bochary Film, Glovision Production, SBH Entertainment, Multivita Min, UTDC Film, Bozz Community, Tjap Gadjah, Les Bumi Toek Sinema, Kamuajo, 3 Generation of Brankerz, Sineline, Loekita Film, FM Production, Brankerz Production, Brankas Film, Fiuma Films, and Pram Production.
5. Festivals that ever been followed by CLC are Festival Film Indonesia (FFI), Festival Film Dokumenter (FFD), Mafviefest, S13FFEST, Festival Film Pendek Konfiden, Festival Film Peksiminas, Jogja NETPAC Asian Film Festival, etc.
