DRILLING OURSELVES

Many people still recognize that the most difficult thing in learning English is about grammar and structure. Not too much teacher and lecturer can give simple way to solve grammar and structure problem. So, now, I want to share my experience in learning about grammar and structure by translating simple phrases and sentences such as the sample below. I started by translating word "Apel".
1. Apel
2. Apel merah
3. Apel merah yang besar
4. Sepuluh apel merah yang besar

The way above I got from my lecturer when we discussed about solving the grammar and structure difficulties. He said that every of us need to drill ourselves to reach the main goal of learning English: speaking and writing. Not only that, again, he told me to translate the sample below:
1. Bagaimana cara memasukkan gajah ke dalam kulkas?
Sebagai jawaban: pintu kulkas dibuka, gajah dimasukkan ke dalam kulkas, lalu tutup pintu kulkas.
2. Bagaimana cara memasukkan jerapah ke dalam kulkas?
Sebagai jawaban: pintu kulkas dibuka, gajah dikeluarkan, jerapah dimasukkan, lalu tutup pintu kulkas.

Sound funny? Yeah, it because English is fun. My lecturer said that although grammar and structure are quite difficult, but it doesn't mean that we may leave them. And, although the language is spoken and sometimes we can "ignore" the grammar and structure, but a perfect language will make us more confident. Just think that nothing difficult if we want to try harder. (By: Exzal, alumni'06).
